Rafter Breaks CCSU Record, Hurd Takes Home Win for Track and Field
Central Connecticut women's track and field kicked off day one of the David Hemery Valentine Invite on Friday in historic fashion. Angie Rafter broke CCSU's record in the 5000m, while Alissa Hurd brought home a first place finish for the Blue Devils.
NOTES
- In the women's 5000m, Rafter finished 16th with an insane time of 16:18.75. For reference, the previous CCSU record holder, Dawn Hubbel (2019), had a best time of 17:02.81.
- Hurd took home the gold in the women's high jump, going for 1.66m.
- Livvy Pizzitola finished 13th in the 60m dash, running it in 8:16.
- Ashley Dana finished 43 out of the field of 186 runners in the 800 meter, finishing in 2:13.63.
- Aaliyah Walker built upon the strong season she's had so far and finished 18th in the triple jump at 10.53m.
