Women's Outdoor Track and Field Competes in New England Championships and Day One of the IC4A/ECAC
The Blue Devils had multiple runners compete in the New England and IC4A/ECAC Championships
The Central Connecticut women's outdoor track and field team participated in the New England Championships, as well as day one of the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday.
RESULTS AT IC4A/ECAC
Distance runner Angie Rafter provided the strongest showing of the day for the Blue Devils, placing second in the 3000 meter steeplechase. The junior ran a career best 10:33.34 in the challenging race.
Freshman Brooke Morabito ran a solid 17:48.56 in the 5000 meter run, cracking the top ten in the event.
Both Hailey Rospierki and Aaliyah Walker competed in the long jump, with Rospierski just edging Walker (5.27m) at 5.33 meters.
RESULTS AT NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
On Friday, Kayla Cohen ran a personal best 19:35.66 in the women's 5000 meter run.
Junior distance runner Kaitlyn Stevens placed 8th in the 10,000 meter event, posting a time of 38:12.67.
Freshman Margaret LoSchiavo participated in the 3000m steeplechase, coming in just a few seconds off her personal best at 12:29.38.
Before heading to the IC4A Championships, senior Hailey Rospierski competed in the long jump on Friday. She finished with a best leap of 5.43 meters.
Danyelle Engels was the only field participant for CCSU on Saturday, throwing a 34.24m in the discus event.

CCSU will complete the IC4A/ECAC Championships tomorrow with multiple runners on the men's and women's team.
