Women's Track & Field Competes at IC4A/ECAC Championships
The women's 10k race will open up Sunday's events.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team has six representatives competing at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at William Weaver Stadium in Princeton, NJ. Junior Madeline Mondo led the Blue Devils on Saturday with her finish in the 3000m steeplechase.
Mondo placed 17th in the 3000m steeplechase. After winning bronze at last week's Northeast Conference Championships, Mondo clocked a time of 10:51.40.
Sophomore Megan Brawner placed 22nd in the 1500m run. The NEC champion in the event, Brawner turned in a time of 4:33.38.
Junior McKenna Kilian competed in the long jump and recorded a best leap of 5.11m on her first attempt. Kilian placed second in the event at last weekend's NEC Championships.
Senior Brittany Mendelson is seeded eighth in the 10,000m, while junior Dawn Hubbell will also be in the field for the race. Mendelson, who won the 5K and placed second in the 10K at the conference championships, and Hubbell will run the 10K on Sunday morning. Junior Sierra Nesmith will also be competing on Sunday when she runs in the 400m Hurdles.
