Women's Track Ready For 2018 NEC Title Meet
The women's events will begin on Friday at 9:20 a.m. at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team will compete for its first ever Northeast Conference title in program history on Friday and Saturday, February 16-17 at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The women's championship track events will begin on Friday with the 60 meter hurdle preliminary round at 9:20 a.m. and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. with the 3,000 meter run final.

Last year, CCSU was led by junior Sierra Nesmith who was crowned the 2017 Triple Jump Champion with a leap of 11.53 meters, leading the Blue Devils to a fourth place finish. Sacred won the league last season with its fourth-straight program championship.
Heading into this weekend's championship, sophomore Hailey Rospierski is the NEC's top contender in the high jump (1.66m) and ranks second in the 60 meter hurdles (9.05m) after setting a new personal best time at the New England Championships on February 2.
Junior McKenna Kilian stands is the third-seeded long jumper with a mark of 5.41 meters and also tied for the third seed in the high jump with a height of 1.63 meters.
On the track, junior Dawn Hubbell will look to lead CCSU in the 5,000 meter run with her third-seeded career best time of 17:47.04 set at the Boston University John Terrier Classic on January 26.
