Kilian, Rospierski Finish First and Second in UConn MultiEvent Challenge
Kilian sets new PR with score of 3,232
Junior McKenna Kilian and sophomore Hailey Rospierski finished first and second respectively in the Pentathlon as the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team opened the indoor season with a trip to the UConn MultiEvent Challenge on Friday.
Kilian set a new PR with a score of 3,232 points, finishing ahead of Rospierski who had a total of 3,140 points in the event. The two finished at the top of the 10 person field at UConn's Hugh Greer Field House.
Rospierski finished first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.11 seconds. Kilian was sixth in the same event with a time of 9.74. Both Blue Devils participants posted solid showings in the high jump. Kilian jumped 1.56 meters while Rospierski cleared a height of 1.65 meters.
Kilian finished second in the shot put with a throw of 9.96 meters, earning 527 points. Rospierski posted a throw of 8.85 meters. Kilian jumped 4.95 meters in the long jump while Rospierski jumped 4.98 meters.
Kilian secured the first place finish with a time of 2:28.71 in the 800 meter run, finishing almost 20 seconds ahead of the second place finisher and securing 709 points. Rospierski ran 2:51.32 to finish seventh in the event and secure her second place finish on the day.
