Pair of Blue Devils Run Personal-Bests at Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday
The CCSU women's outdoor track and field team will return to action next as they compete at the America East Pre-Conference Meet on Saturday, April 30 at the Reggie Atkins Track & Field Facility in Durham, NH.
Junior Sherise Truman and freshman Sierra Nesmith each posted personal-best times as the Central Connecticut women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Saturday afternoon.
Truman ran a new personal-best time in the women's 200 meter dash. Truman crossed the finish line in 25.07 to register the new PR and record a 15th place overall finish out of 43 runners in the event. She also claimed a a 33rd place finish in the 100 meter dash clocking in a time of 12.54.
Nesmith continued her successful freshman campaign and posted a 14th place finish for the Blue Devils in the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday. The rookie crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 1:03.43.
In the 1,500 meter run, senior Mara Lieberman finished 11th overall after crossing the finish line with a time of 4:43.23 to record the highest overall finish on the day for the Blue Devils. She also ran a season-best time of 2:15.48 in the 800 meter run at the meet to place 61st overall in the event.
Sarah Hicks recorded an impressive performance in the 100 meter hurdles for the Blue Devils on Saturday at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The junior finished 22nd overall in the event sprinting to a time 14.98.
Senior Ally Gates recorded a season-best time in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The veteran's season-best time of 11:17.49 earned her a 27th place overall finish in the event.
