Saunders Sets School Mark at 1.77m in NCAA Regionals
Saunders set a new outdoor best on Friday night
Junior Ronea Saunders set a new school record and a personal outdoor best jumping 1.77 meters at the NCAA East Regionals on Friday night. The meet was held in Jacksonville, FL and is being hosted by the University of North Florida at Hodges Stadium.
Her jump was good for a tie for 17th place finish in the East Region.
RESULTS
Saunders' jump converts to 5 Feet, 9 and 3/4 inches, besting her previous school record by one inch. She jumped 5-8 3/4 in 2012.
Saunders, the NEC Champion in the high jump during the indoor season, claimed the silver at the 2014 NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She earned her spot in the field as one of the top-48 performers in the eastern region this season.
