Swimming and Diving Compete at Second Day of Blue Devil Invite on Saturday
Blue Devils trail Wagner, lead Sacred Heart after second day
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team continued a three-day meet with Wagner and Sacred Heart on Saturday night. The Seahawks lead the meet with a score of 1180.5, followed by CCSU at 785.5 and then Sacred Heart with 718.

KEY PERFORMANCES
- Sophomore Alex Lindgren finished fifth in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:39.27.
- Freshman Shannon Welcome was fifth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.82.
- Sophomore Katie Czulewicz finished fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.52, followed by senior Erika Maercklein in sixth with a time of 1:56.49.
- Lindgren was third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.14.
- The Blue Devils also took fifth and sixth in the 100 breaststroke as sophomore Mariana Espino (1:08.31) and junior Gracie Regan (1:08.14) gave the Blue Devils 50 points in the event.
- Sophomore Hallie Perrin (1:01.08) was fifth and freshman Kaylin McMahon (1:01.64) was sixth in the 100 backstroke.
- Junior Katelyn Mann was fourth in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:01.88. Regan was sixth in 1:02.46.
- The Blue Devils finished second in the 800 yard freestyle relay as sophomores Jeannette King, Simona Visinski, Czulewicz and Welcome swam 7:55.64.
