COACH QUOTE

"That was a terrific team performance. At times tonight we moved the ball really well. And I can't remember the last time we had 6 different goal scorers in a game."- Head Coach Mick D'Arcy

KEY MOMENTS

  • The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Kelly Brady stole a back pass just inside midfield. She beat a Stonehill defender and dribbled by the keeper, before sliding the ball across the goal mouth.

  • Caitlin Murphy held the Blue Devils' 1-0 lead after tracking a long-range shot and deflecting it away from the upper 90.

  • CCSU kept the momentum going in the 22nd minute when they earned a corner from sustained offensive pressure. Lindsay Stevenson sent the corner to the far post where Charlotte Simmons headed it inside the goal for a 2-0 lead.

  • Gia Edwards scored for the Blue Devils in the 37th minute when she took a shot from the top of the box after intercepting an attempted clearance.

  • The Skyhawks had a chance to score with 2:45 to play in the first half. Lauren Clement shot from 25 yards out and the ball skimmed just over the crossbar.

  • Stonehill had another dangerous scoring chance right before the end of the half. With only 60 seconds left, Olivia Sharkansky hit the crossbar from about 35-yards out.

  • The Blue Devils improved the score to 4-0 early in the second half. In the 48th minute, Kristina Kelly dribbled towards the line, beat a defender, and squeezed the ball just between the post and keeper.

  • Central scored their fifth goal in the 66th minute when Kelly Brady dribbled down the sideline and slid the ball forward to Aoife Horgan. Horgan then tucked the ball into the net between the goalkeeper and the post.

  • CCSU secured their sixth and final goal with five minutes left in the game. Erin Sutter dribbled the ball down the field and slid a pass to her left to Emma Lou Smith. Smith then kicked the ball forward to Abbie Burgess who buried the ball into the back of the net.
