The Young Matildas have gotten off to the perfect start in Costa Rica, defeating the host nation 3-1 on Wednesday.
Blayney's career at CCSU lasted from 2007-2009 and was nothing short of memorable. She was named First Team All-NEC ('07, '08, '09), First Team All-New England ('07), and NEC Player of the Year ('09). She also earned the Gail Rutz Award in her senior year as outstanding female athlete at CCSU.
The Young Matildas next face Brazil, the current U20 South American Women's Football Championship winners on Sunday.
