Women's Soccer Set To Host LIU for Northeast Conference Championship on Friday
The Blue Devils are seeking a third straight NEC title, as the team takes on Long Island University.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team looks to capture its third straight Northeast Conference title, as the team takes on Long Island University on Friday at 3:00 pm. The Blue Devils enter the championship with a perfect 6-0 record overall and in NEC play. Central has outscored its opponents 15-1 in the six games played this season and leads the league in shots (119), points (41), and goals (15). Long Island has played just four games this season, coming into the championship with a record of 3-0-1 overall and in NEC play.
The 2020-21 NEC Women's Soccer Championship will stream live on ESPN3 and NEC Front Row. Fans can also watch via the NEC on the Run app.
No spectators will be allowed at the championship.

CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
Against LIU: The Blue Devils and Sharks did not meet during the regular season, as the game scheduled on Mar. 19 was canceled due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Most recently, Central defeated LIU 3-0 in the 2019 season and has won the last six matches dating back to 2014. The two teams have met four times in the NEC Tournament, splitting the games 2-2. CCSU leads the all-time series record at 18-9-1.
To Date: Central Connecticut is 23-9 all-time in NEC Tournament play. The two-time defending champions have won 10 NEC titles in program history with the first coming in the 1997 season. Head coach Mick D'Arcy comes in with a record of 211-154-38 (.571) and has led the Blue Devils to eight NEC titles.
Home Field Advantage: In the six times CCSU has hosted the NEC Tournament, the team has won the title all six times ('97, '98, '02, '05, '18, '19).
