Kelly Brady Honored As NEC Rookie of the Week
Brady earned rookie of the week honor for second time this season.
For the second time, freshman Kelly Brady of the Central Connecticut women's soccer team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday. The forward from Tomkins Cove, NY scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute over Sacred Heart on Tuesday, Mar. 30.
Brady nearly scored early in the match, but her attempt was saved by the Sacred Heart keeper. The freshman finally broke the scoring drought, finding the back of the net at the 73:00 mark off a dish from Delaney Lawler. It was the second goal of the season for Brady in just three games.
Goalkeeper Amanda McQuillan was named a NEC Prime Performer for the third time. She faced one shot on goal and made a huge save to keep the Pioneers scoreless.
The Blue Devils head to Wagner for a matchup on Tuesday, April 6 at 7:00 pm.
