Women's Lacrosse Downed by Wagner on Senior Day
The Blue Devils honored four seniors prior to the home finale
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team closed its season with a 17-6 loss against Wagner on Senior Day, Saturday at Arute Field. The Blue Devils honored four graduating seniors prior to the game: Carson Adelberger, Jackie Branthover, Jane Henry, and Alaigra Usher. Central is now 2-12 overall and 0-5 in Northeast Conference play.
Wagner opened the game with the first four goals to build a lead it would not give away. The Blue Devils scored twice in the opening period with sophomore Kaitlyn Rapp scoring off a pass from junior Morgan Sinton and sophomore Emma Sullivan scoring a free-position goal.
The Seahawks led, 11-2, at the intermission.
The Blue Devils would cut the deficit to 11-3 early in the second period after Rapp scored off a pass from freshman Lily Sheridan, but would be unable to get any closer.
Usher would score off a pass from Sullivan midway through the period, while Sinton and Adelberger each added goals late to round out the CCSU scoring.
Rapp scored twice for the Blue Devils in the loss. Branthover made 11 saves for CCSU.
