The Blue Devils Head to Saint Francis to Wrap up a Three Game Road Trip

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team travels to Loretto, PA to take on The Saint Francis Red Flash on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. The game will be streamed free on NEC Front Row.

OPENING NOTES

• The Saint Francis Red Flash welcome Central Connecticut to DeGol Arena for their 45th matchup on Thursday night. SFU leads the overall series 28-16 but looks to avoid the season sweep against CCSU.
• Head Coach Way Veney is in her first season at the helm of the Blue Devils.
• This will be the last game in a three-game road skid for Central. They are back home Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 vs Merrimack.

WITH A CCSU WIN ...

• The Blue Devils would capture their first road win since January 19th of last year at LIU.
• Central will sweep the Red Flash for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
• CCSU would move to 3-5 and match their NEC win total from last season.

WHAT TO KNOW

• The Blue Devils average 57.4 points per game in NEC play, compared to the 53.3 Saint Francis scores per game in the NEC this year.
• In NEC play this season CCSU's defense ranks third among the league in points against (58.57).
• CCSU's offense has struggled during conference play. The team ranks 7th in scoring offense and last in FG %.
• The Blue Devils made 78.6 percent of their free throws as a team, the best in the NEC. Belle Lanpher hits 2.4 free throws per game to lead Central while knocking down a league-leading 86.5 percent of her attempts at the line.
• Samora Watson leads Central in scoring, averaging 16.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
• Lanpher is the team's top passer, putting up 2.8 assists to go with 12.9 points per game.
• Alonna Sellers has been the X factor for the Blue Devils in conference play. She is 23-for-40 (.575) from the floor 10-for-11 from the FT line and averages 8.0 points off the bench in NEC play.
