Women's Basketball Set to Face Saint Francis Brooklyn Friday Night
The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team will play at Saint Francis Brooklyn tomorrow night for their second conference game of the season.
The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team will play at Saint Francis Brooklyn tomorrow night for their second conference game of the season. This game marks the 48th Division I meeting between the Blue Devils and the Terriers. CCSU will be looking to end a two-game losing streak and snag their first victory against the Terriers since the 2020-21 season.
• Dejah Jenkins led the Blue Devils with 18 points against Stonehill and was named a Prime Performer for the week of 1/3. This was her seventh double-digit scoring effort of the season and she is 9th in scoring in the NEC at 11.1 points per game.
• Two other Central players also scored in double figures against the Skyhawks. Lara Rohkohl had 13 points and Belle Lanpher scored 12.
• CCSU had just nine turnovers in the game and only three in the second half. They also had 16 offensive rebounds that led to 14 second-chance points
• Rohkohl led the Blue Devils against Boston College with 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jenkins scored 7 points and tallied one block and one assist.
• Lanpher led the Blue Devils against Providence with 15 points and Hartford with 16 points, a new season high.
• Along with Lanpher, three other Blue Devils scored in double figures against the Hawks. Kenefick had 14 points, and Rohkohl and Toppin each had 12 points.
• Rohkohl was named NEC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on 12/19. She scored in double figures for the second time this season to help lead the Blue Devils to their first road win of the season against the University of Hartford. Rohkohl went 5-of-6 from the field along with a 2-for-2 effort from the free throw line.
• Rohkohl, Lanpher, and Kenefick were named NEC Prime Performers for the week of 12/19.
