Blue Devils Drop Road Game to UConn
Central recorded just three hits in the 10-2 loss in five innings on Wednesday.
The Central Connecticut softball ended its four-game winning streak in a 10-2 loss at Uconn in five innings. The game was the first played at the new Burrill Family Field in Storrs, CT.

UConn attacked quickly, scoring four runs in the first inning. Two of the runs were unearned after the Blue Devils dropped a pop up in the infield, allowing Wivell and Estorga to score for the Huskies.

Central allowed two more runs in the bottom half of the second, after a RBI double from Briana Marcelino and a sac fly from Madisyn Estorga. CCSU trailed 6-0 after two innings of play.

The Blue Devils put some pressure on the Huskies in the top of the fifth, after Meg Gorman was hit by a pitch and Bri Walker hit a single. Kim Howard stepped up and knocked a single to right center, scoring both CCSU runners and cutting the Uconn's lead to 7-2.

The Huskies ended the game in the bottom of the fifth after Reese Guevarra hit an inside-the-park home run, making the score 10-2.
