Four Run Seventh Leads CCSU to 6-1 Win Over Seton Hall
Sargent wins third game of the season, allowing just six hits
The Central Connecticut softball team scored four seventh inning runs and senior Emily Sargent allowed just six hits in a complete-game victory as the Blue Devils topped Seton Hall 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The win moves the Blue Devils to 6-12 on the season. Sargent improves to 3-5.
Leading 2-1 heading into the seventh inning the Blue Devils broke the game open with four runs on four hits, including a two-run home run from freshman Sydney Bolan. Senior Brittany McNulla doubled in a pair of runs in the inning as the Blue Devils finished the game with 13 hits.
Senior Brittany Camara had three hits and scored twice from the leadoff spot in the victory for the Blue Devils. Eight different Blue Devils had a hit in the game, led by Camara's three and two each from Bolan and McNulla. McNulla finished the game with two RBI, while senior Gianna Hathaway drove in one and Bolan added two with her second home run of the season.
Sargent's third win came in a solid outing where she allowed just six hits, struck out two and allowed just the one earned run. It was her second straight win and her third in her last six starts.
