Men's Cross Country Runs at NEC Championship, Three Players Named to All-Conference Team
The Blue Devils finished fourth in the NEC Championship Saturday.
The Central Connecticut Blue Devils finished fourth as a team at the 2018 Northeast Conference Championship Saturday at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. The team finished with 72 points and averaged the 8K race with a time of 26:44.
CCSU had three runners, senior Alex Norstrom, junior Roberto Piotto, and junior Richard Grudzwick named to the 2018 Men's Cross Country All-Conference Team.
Norstrom finished first for the Blue Devils and fourth overall with a time of 25:57.5. Piotto was also leading the pack and finished sixth in 26:03.3.
The next runner for Central was Grudzwick who finished in 26:50.2 at 12th place followed by sophomore Charlie Tauble in 19th place with a time of 27:07.6.
The rookie, Robert Moore had an impressive showing as the seventh freshmen to finish clocking in at 27:38.7 in 31st place. Senior Patrick Halloran crossed the finish line less than a minute after Moore at 28:26.0 in 41st place.
Junior Julio Arredondo and freshman Tim McNamara finished with times of 28:44.5 and 29:17.5. Rounding out the Blue Devils runners was freshman David Kerns who clocked in at 29:39.5.
Mount St. Mary's won with a total of 44 points followed by Saint Francis U. (2), Wagner (3), Bryant (5), Sacred Heart (6), St. Francis Brooklyn (7), and Fairleigh Dickinson (8).
