Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Ted Owen
Trainor and Piotto paced the Blue Devils at the 15th Annual Ted Owen Invitational.
On Saturday morning, the Central Connecticut men's cross country team placed fourth out of a nine-team field at the 15th Annual Ted Owen Invitational. The Blue Devils averaged a Stanley Quarter Park 8K course time of 28:19. Leading the New Britain pack was junior Austin Trainor and sophomore Roberto Piotto who crossed the finish line one after the other in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Trainor turned in a time of 26:42.2 and Piotto ended at 26:47.4.
Northeast Conference members Sacred Heart, Saint Francis U. and Wagner took the first, second and third spots in the final team standings. SFU's Bryce England took top honors and clocked in at 25:49.9.
Next in for CCSU was sophomore Richard Grudzwick in 34th place at 28:41.8. Followed by third year cross country runner Kyle Welch in 39th place who recorded an 8K time of 29:02.1. Rounding out the finishes for Central at 30:25.2 was junior Adonys Langual.
The Central Connectiut cross country teams will next compete on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the New England Championships held at Franklin Park in Boston, MA.
