Men's Track and Field Collects Two Medals on Day One at NEC Championships
The Central Connecticut State men's track and field team collected a gold and silver medal on the opening day of the Northeast Conference championships in Emmitsburg, MD.
The Blue Devils have 25 points and are in fifth. Wagner leads the standings with 49 points.
KEY TRACK PERFORMANCES
- Eddie Nicholas won the Blue Devils' first gold, taking the 10,000 meters in a time of 31:11.56. Mark Rodriguez (32:54.61) placed eighth to give CCSU two scorers in the event.
- The 4x800 meter relay placed fourth with a time of 8:03.51 to score four points.
KEY FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Ed Radzion earned a mark of 14.73 meters in the shot put to place seventh.
- In the discus, Andrew McCarthy qualified for the IC4A with a toss of 47.87 meters and placed second.
