Men's Outdoor Track and Field Competes in New England Championships and Day One of the IC4A/ECAC
The Blue Devils had multiple runners compete in the New England and IC4A/ECAC Championships
The Central Connecticut men's outdoor track and field team participated in the New England Championships, as well as day one of the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday.
RESULTS AT IC4A/ECAC
Freshman Eddie Nicholas posted a strong showing in the 3000m steeplechase run, placing sixth with a time of 9:05.24. Teammate Yankarlos Diaz also competed in the event, finishing at 9:37.15.
On friday, senior Nick Kocienda placed fifth in the hammer throw with a best toss of 56.70 meters.
The men's 4 x 100 finished in 42.79 seconds, good for 12th place in the event.
Ed Razion participated in the shot put with a throw of 14.18m, good for 12th place.
The Blue Devil duo of Andrew McCarthy and Nick Kocienda both placed in the top 12 of the men's discus throw. McCarthy came in at 47.70m while Kocienda's best toss was 43.89m.
Long distance runner Elias Field competed in the 10,000 meter run, finishing with a time of 35:15.38.
RESULTS AT NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Teammates Richard Grudzwick and Greg McGuire ran in the 800 meter dash, with Grudzwick coming in at 1:54.73 and McGuire at 1:55.69.
Freshman Jake Ireland ran a 3:58.41 in the 1500 meter event, good for 14th place.
Sean Oushana took on the 3000 meter steeplechase, running a solid 10:25.51 in the event.
