Men’s Track Sets Two Personal Bests at BU Last Chance Meet on Sunday
Qualifiers for ECACs will compete on March 2-3 in Boston, MA.
Two members of the Central Connecticut men's indoor track and field team set new personal records on Sunday, February 23 at the BU Last Chance Meet in Boston, MA.
Sophomore Miles Fye-Moore broke his previous 200-meter dash time of 22.20 seconds set last weekend at the NEC Indoor Track & Field Championship with a new mark of 22.01 to place 25th on Sunday.
Junior Andrew Findley edged out his old personal best 500-meter dash time of 1:06.04 with a new collegiate best time of 1:05.51 earning a fourth-place finish.
In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Darius Wise came in seventh place after posting a time of 7.09 seconds. Junior Richard Grudzwick ran the 800-meter run recording a time of 1:52.35 finishing 13th overall.
Junior Julio Arredondo completed the one-mile run in 4:24.37. Two Blue Devils, junior Quincy Sanchez and freshman Cam Whalen represented Central in the 60-meter hurdles. Sanchez came in ninth place with a time of 8.53 and Whalen 13th with an 8.65 second mark.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of Jack St. Clair, Smith, Grudzwick, Walton, and Wise finished in 10th place recording a time of 3:19.20.
In the two field events, St. Clair earned a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.57 meters, and senior Jeremy Hopwood competed in the men's pole vault.
Central will send its ECAC qualifiers to the IC4A/ECAC Championships on March 2-3 back at the Boston U. Track and Tennis Center.
