Men's Track and Field Seeks Third NEC Title
CCSU was crowned the 2018 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Champions.
The Central Connecticut men's indoor track and field team will compete for the third Northeast Conference title in program history on Friday and Saturday, Feb, 15-16 at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The men's track events will begin on Friday at 9:20 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdles preliminary round and conclude with the 3,000 meter final at 2:00 p.m.

NEC T&F CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS
Last year, the men's track team earned its second Northeast Conference Championship in program history scoring 132 points, the most of any CCSU men's indoor team. The Blue Devils has 12 athletes medal at the 2018 NEC title meet.
Senior Alex Norstrom and junior Roberto Piotto earned silver and bronze in the 5,000 meter run. Senior Akiel Smith was named the NEC runner-up in the 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 6.88 seconds.
Junior Marquis Ward was crowned the NEC High Jump Champion with a leap of 2.04 meters and earned a silver medal in the triple jump with a jump of 14.24 meters.
Following the NEC Championships, Central will next compete at the BU Last Chance meet in on Sunday, Feb. 24 in Boston, MA.
