Four Blue Devils Qualify for Day Two at New England Championships
Central continues tomorrow at 10:15 a.m.
The Central Connecticut mens indoor track and field team had four athletes advance in their events to day two at the New England Championships in Boston, MA. Junior Roberto Piotto won the 5,000 meter run with a collegiate best time of 14:41.50 crushing his previous record of 14:44.77.
Sophomore Miles Fye-Moore matched his collegiate best in the 60 meter dash finishing with a time of 7.12.
Junior Richard Grudzwick won his heat in the 800 meter run in 1:54.49 to solidify a spot tomorrow. Junior Andrew Findley and freshman Tim McNamara also competed in the event finishing with times of 1:57.88 and 2:01.97 respectively.
Juniors Qunicy Sanchez and Tyrik Henry qualified for the 60 meter hurdles semi-finals. Sanchez finished with a time of 8.30 and Henry 8.35. Freshman Cam Whalen completed the hurdles in 8.61.
In the men's long jump final, junior Marquis Ward recorded a height of 6.40 meters and junior Kevorni Welsh 6.53 meters.
