Grudzwick Wins 800 Meter Run, Men's Track Competes at Wagner Invitational
Freshman Richard Grudzwick ran the 800 meter event in 1:56.46 to take top honors at the Wagner Invitational on Friday, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Freshman Richard Grudzwick ran the 800 meter event in 1:56.46 to take top honors at the Wagner Invitational on Friday, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Sophomore Edwin Alston took second place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.12 seconds, and close behind was sophomore Quincy Sanchez at 8.50 second for a fifth place finish in the finals.
Junior Tyler Latham excelled in the long jump, springing 6.76 meter to put himself in second place overall. Junior Austin Trainor clocked in a time of 4:18.76 in the one mile run (fourth place), and senior Tyler Raymond recorded a time of 4:24.92 in the same event.
Freshman Kevorni Welsh placed fourth in the high jump after springing 1.89 meters, and also competed in the long jump, placing 14th out of 12 other participants with a 6.41 meter performance.
Veteran Joe Gioielli ran the 3,000 meter run in 8:29.32 to finish in third, and senior Kendall Walker recorded a time of 7.17 seconds in the 60 meter dash on Friday.
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team will resume competition next Saturday, Jan. 14th at Yale in New Haven, CT.
