Five Blue Devils Compete at Bison Outdoor Classic
Five members of the Central Connecticut men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Bison outdoor Classic on Saturday in Lewisburg, PA.
Five members of the Central Connecticut men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Bison outdoor Classic on Saturday in Lewisburg, PA. The meet was held at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium on the campus Bucknell.
BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC RESULTS
Three of the five Blue Devils competed in the 10,000 meter run at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. Sophomore Tyler Raymond led the way with a 17th place finish out of 39 competitors, turning in a new personal-best time of 30:38.98. The time also proved to be a IC4A qualifying time for the sophomore.
He was joined in the event by sophomores Ryan Hertzog and Colin Sauter. Hertzog finished right behind Raymond in 20th place, also with an IC4A qualifying time of 30:43.71. Sauter picked up a 32nd place finish in the event, logging a personal-best time of 31:21.82.
Freshman Alex Norstrom recorded the best finish for CCSU on the day with an 11th place finish in the unseeded 10,000 meter run. The rookie crossed the finish line with a time of 32:20.53.
Patrick Hubbell was the lone Blue Devil to not compete in the 10,000 meter run and earned a 29th place finish out of 47 athletes in the 1,500 meter run. The senior standout crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 3:54.99.
The Central men's outdoor track and field team will return to action next weekend at either the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on April 17 and 18 or the Mark Young Invitational at Yale on April 18.
