Men's Soccer Earns Draw at Home with FDU
Central Connecticut and FDU battled to a 3-3 draw at CCSU Soccer Field in Northeast Conference men's soccer action on Thursday night. The Blue Devils took a lead with two second-half goals, but the Knights would score the equalizer with just under six minutes to play and the contest would end in a deadlock.
The Blue Devils travel to Merrimack on Sunday, Oct. 17.

KEY MOMENTS
- FDU opened the scoring just 1:27 into the game when Tony Gomez headed home a corner kick from Kevin Leonhard.
- The Blue Devils answered 10 minutes later off a corner of their own. Sophomore John Michael Torres rose above a crowd to head home a corner from junior Sean Gannon to make it 1-1.
- The Knights took a lead just before intermission when Leonhard cleaned up a rebound of an Edoardo Calzola shot to make it 2-1.
- CCSU would tie the game in the 49th minute on a designed play off a free kick. Gannon played a short pass to freshman Brian Son, who slipped a pass behind the defense to an on-rushing freshman Birk Martinsen who buried his shot.
- The Blue Devils took the lead in the 61st minute when freshman Kacper Skonieczny charged in from the left wing and slipped a pass to freshman Ola Telje who tucked home his shot to make it 3-2.
- FDU got the equalizer at the 84:08 mark when Diego Arribas took a free kick and found Hugo Bacharach for the header at the far post to tie the game 3-3.

3- The Blue Devils have scored three goals in each of the last two meetings with FDU, including a 3-0 win over the Knights in the shortened spring season of 2021.
