Men's Soccer Shutout in Setback at Saint Francis U
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team had its two-game win streak halted by Saint Francis U, 4-0, on Sunday at Stokes Soccerplex in Loretto, PA. The Red Flash tallied three first half goals by Patrick Heron to pick up their first Northeast Conference win.
The Blue Devils host FDU on Thursday, October 14.

KEY MOMENTS
- Heron opened the scoring just 0:38 into the game when he finished off a string of passes from Maximus Rigby and Piet Wesling to give SFU a 1-0 lead.
- Heron would strike just under two minutes later when he scored off a feed from Rigby and Jeff Thielman. He would finish off his hat-trick in the 31st minute with assists from Thielman and Ellie Lubino to make it 3-0.
- The Red Flash closed out the scoring with a goal at the 73:16 mark when Simon Luchinger scored off an assist from Joel Aschenbroich.
NUMBER TO KNOW
164:50 - The Blue Devils allowed their first goal in nearly two games. Central had not allowed a goal since the 16th minute at Mount St. Mary's on Sept. 30.
NOTES
- The Blue Devils have dropped three straight, and six of the last seven meetings, to SFU daiting back to Nov. 2, 2014.
- Junior Jason Dubrovich finished the game with five saves.
- SFU held a 15-6 edge in shots. Feshman Birk Martinsen had two shots to lead CCSU.
- The Red Flash had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks in the game.
