Men's Soccer Overwhelms Howard, 3-0, on Sunday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team posted its first shutout of the year in a 3-0 win over Howard on Sunday at CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils scored a pair of second half goals with freshman Erik Hjertsson involving himself in a pair of scores.
The Blue Devils travel to Saint Francis U on Sunday, Oct. 10.

- Central opened the scoring in the 25th minute when sophomore John Michael Torress slipped a quick pass to freshman Brian Son who lofted the ball in behind the Howard defense to freshman Erik Hjertsson who slipped his shot into the net to make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils doubled the lead in the 64th minute when Hjertsson centered a pass to freshman Kyle Halehale, who settled the ball and sent his shot inside the left post to make it 2-0.
- CCSU closed out the scoring with just under a quarter-hour to play when senior Sean Gannon pushed a ball ahead to freshman Birk Martinsen who sent his show low to the right and made it 3-0.
