Second Half Goal Sinks Men's Soccer at Hartford
Central Connecticut's men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Hartford on Tuesday at Al-Marzook Field. The Hawks scored the game's only goal just under 20 minutes into the second half and survived multiple late chances by the Blue Devils to earn the shutout.
The Blue Devils are now off until opening Northeast Conference play against LIU on September 26.

KEY MOMENTS
- The teams played an even opening half with CCSU having the best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes. In the final 90 seconds of the half, sophomore John Michael Torres got the ball on the left wing and dribbled at the net. He would get off a shot from close range, but it was pushed just wide to keep the game 0-0.
- Hartford broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Tomer Drimmer chipped a ball in behind the CCSU defense and Adrian Knights-Browne brought it down with his right foot before turning and sending a low shot into the net with his left foot to make it 1-0.
- Central would get a pair of dangerous chances minutes later. In the 68th minute, CCSU earned an indirect free kick inside the 18-yard box, but the shot was blocked and cleared away. At 73:18, CCSU drew a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, but Torres kick would sail high.
- The Blue Devils had a long throw in in the closing seconds. Freshman Ola Telje got the throw into the box in front of the net where hit was headed on frame, but Rotem Fadida made the save to preserve the shutout.

- CCSU had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Hartford had five offsides called against it, while Central had 0.
