Men's Soccer Shuts Out FDU, 3-0, on Monday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team recorded a 3-0 shutout against Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday at CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils scored an early goal to take the lead and tacked on a pair of late goals to seal the win.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got the opening goal just 6:14 into the contest after freshman Kacper Skonieczny was brought down in the penalty area. Junior Sean Gannon stepped up to take the ensuing penalty kick and gave CCSU a 1-0 lead.
- Central doubled the lead with just under 15 minutes to play after earning a corner kick. Gannon sent a looping kick into the box and freshman Kyle Halehale charged in to get his head onto the ball and send it into the back of the net at far post.
- CCSU added an insurance goal with 10 minutes remaining. Senior Khalid Rose played a ball ahead to sophomore Mitchell Lyons who evaded a pair of defenders and buried his shot to close out the scoring.
NOTES
- Junior Jason Dubrovich made three saves for his first career shutout at CCSU.
- Lyons and Halehale scored their first career goals.
- Gannon leads CCSU with two goals and six points (2 G, 2 A) on the season.
- CCSU posted its first shutout since a 1-0 win at Robert Morris on October 31, 2018.
- Central has won back to back games for the first time since September 1 and 3, 2017 (3-1 vs. Niagara, 2-0 vs. FGCU).
