Men's Soccer Ties Mount St. Mary's in Season-Opener
Junior Sean Gannon had a goal and assist to help the Central Connecticut men's soccer team tie Mount St. Mary's, 2-2, on Monday at FSA in Farmington, CT. The game marked the season-opener for the Blue Devils in the abbreviated spring season after having the fall 2020 campaign wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic

KEY MOMENTS
- Gannon and the Blue Devils opened the game fast out of the gates. Central earned a penalty kick just over 10 minutes into the contest and Gannon converted to make it 1-0.
- The Mountaineers responded with a pair of goals to take the lead in the first half. A header by Gavin Watt off a free kick by Mateo Cuadros made it 1-1 at the 19:21 mark. Mount would take the lead 10 minutes later on a header by Kyle Davis off a feed from Adao Manuel.
- Central would tie the game just short of the hour mark when Gannon's corner kick found the head of freshman Johnny Morell to make it 2-2.
NUMBER TO KNOW
2 - Central has played two straight overtime games dating back to the 2019 season. CCSU defeated Sacred Heart in overtime, 3-2, on Nov. 10, 2019 - the last contest they played before Monday.

- The game marked the first in charge for CCSU interim head coach Dave Kelly.
- CCSU outshot Mount St. Mary's, 10-7.
- Junior Jason Dubrovich made one save for CCSU.
