The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell on a late goal to Seton Hall, 2-1, on Tuesday night at CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils got a goal from freshman Aidan O'Brien in his first collegiate action and senior Carson D'Ambrosio made eight saves in net.
The Blue Devils fall to 0-1 overall, while Seton Hall is 2-0 on the year.
The Pirates opened the scoring at the 18:14 mark when Alex Pozesky sent a ball to Martin Storesund, who ripped a shot from the left side to make it 1-0.
CCSU would level the score just under 10 minutes later when senior Sebastian Calderon sent a pass from the middle to classmate Quentin Lux on the wing. Lux's cross found the foot of O'Brien who slipped his shot past the keeper to make it 1-1 at 27:14.
The teams would remain deadlocked with D'Ambrosio stifling several SHU attacks in the second half. The Pirates managed to break through with just over five minutes to play when Nico Andersen crossed a ball in for Carlton McKenzie who put his shot past D'Ambrosio for the game-winner.
D'Ambrosio made seven saves for CCSU, while Andreas Nota made four saves for SHU.
