Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at NJIT
Blue Devils continue conference play this weekend vs. FDU on Saturday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer played to a 1-1 draw in its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday night at NJIT. The Blue Devils, now 5-6-1 overall on the season will play again on Saturday night at home against Fairleigh Dickinson. NJIT is now 6-3-4 on the year.
The game was scoreless on Wednesday night until NJIT took a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute on the first goal of the season from Brett Conrads. Conrads shot from 23-yards out and beat CCSU keeper Ben Lavallee with the goal for the one goal lead.
The Blue Devils wasted little time answering and tied the match 1-1 in the 73rd minute. Sophomore forward James Randall scored his first goal of the season to tie the match 1-1. Randall took a rebound off of the NJIT keeper and found the back of the net for the first time this season to tie the match.
Lavallee made eight saves in net in his first action of the season for CCSU. NJIT held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Blue Devils will return to action this Saturday night at 7 p.m. hosting Fairleigh Dickinson on the CCSU Soccer Field.
