Dartmouth Tops Men's Soccer 3-1 on Tuesday
Blue Devils open Northeast Conference play at LIU Brooklyn on Friday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team falls to 4-5 overall on the season dropping a 3-1 non-conference decision on the road at Dartmouth on Tuesday night. The loss is the second straight for Central, who will begin conference play this weekend at LIU Brooklyn on Friday night.
The Big Green struck first with a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at the break. They took a 1-0 lead just 6:34 into the game when Ricardo Gomez scored his first goal of the season, beating CCSU senior keeper Josef Abele.
The lead reached 2-0 just before halftime, at 43:25, when Alex Adelabu scored his third goal of the year for Dartmouth.
Central's Keir Hannity cut the Dartmouth lead in half in the second half. It came on a penalty kick at 78:22.
Dartmouth pushed the lead back to two goals, 3-1, when Adelabu scored for the second time on the night, his fourth goal of the season. He scored from just inside the box, beating Abele for the 3-1 lead.
Abele made a season-high six saves in net in the loss. The Big Green held a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal and had a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Blue Devils will open Northeast Conference play this weekend at LIU Brooklyn on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. They will host Sacred Heart on Sunday at 1 p.m.
