Men's Basketball Stymied Against Saint Francis U
Central heads to Brooklyn for its first NEC road game on Thursday against LIU at 7:00 p.m.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team was stopped by Saint Francis U, 93-69, in Northeast Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Detrick Gym. The Blue Devils fall to 1-14 overall and 0-2 in league play, while Saint Francis is now 8-5 overall and 1-1 in the NEC. Central heads to Brooklyn for its first NEC road game on Thursday against LIU at 7:00 p.m.
Freshmen Greg Outlaw and Myles Baker led CCSU with 16 and 15 points, respectively. The Blue Devils were 25-of-63 (.397) from the field and 4-of-15 (.267) from the arc. CCSU went 15-of-21 (.714) at the foul line. Central committed just 10 turnovers, while forcing the Red Flash into 23.
Isaiah Blackmon hit eight three-pointers and led four Red Flash in double-figures with 28 points. Keith Braxton added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists. SFU shot 32-of-63 (.508) overall and was 14-of-22 (.636) from three-point range. The Red Flash went 15-of-23 (.652) at the foul line and outrebounded the Blue Devils, 51-25.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Red Flash used an 11-0 run midway through the opening half to build a 44-19 lead following three straight three-pointers. SFU opened the game making 8-of-11 from the arc. Keith Braxton, who made his first five shots including two three-pointers, paced SFU to a 51-33 lead at halftime.
- Saint Francis outscored CCSU, 8-2, early in the second half and pushed its lead to 65-39 after a layup by Myles Thompson.
- The Red Flash went 6-of-10 from three-point range after halftime and never allowed CCSU to get closer than 53-35 after halftime, holding the Blue Devils to 1-of-10 from the arc. SFU took its largest lead of the game at 90-57 with 4:32 to play.

23 - CCSU forced 23 turnovers for the second straight game. Central's +13 turnover margin was its second-best of the season and CCSU is +33 in the past three games.

- Saint Francis U has won four straight in the series and evened the all-time series at 22-22.
- Outlaw finished 6-of-9 from the field, while Baker was 4-of-10.
- Junior Stephane Ayangma grabbed a team-high four rebounds.
- Freshman Jamir Reed added eight points, while classmate Xavier Wilson had seven points, three boards and two steals.
- Sophomore Ian Krishnan was 7-of-17 from three-point range on the year, but was held without an attempt from the arc. He finished with seven points.
