Outlaw Named NEC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
CCSU returns home against Maine on Dec. 7.
Freshman Greg Outlaw of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. Outlaw earned the honor for the first team for his play in CCSU's game at UMass Lowell on Sunday.
Outlaw netted a career-best 16 points as CCSU came up just short in a 73-71 setback at UMass Lowell on Dec. 1. He had an efficient offensive game, making 7-12 from the field, and chipped in defensively with two blocks and two steals in 23 minutes.
Outlaw currently leads the team in scoring (10.1 ppg) and steals (1.5 spg), while adding 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He has started seven games thus far and is playing 28.6 minutes per game.
The league also announced its Prime Performers for Week 4 on Monday. Joining Outlaw on the list was senior Jamir Coleman. Coleman matched a career-high with 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting in 33 minutes at UMass Lowell.
CCSU returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 7, when it returns to Detrick Gymnasium to host Maine in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
