Men's Basketball Outscored at Arizona State Thursday Night
Central continues play in the Air Force Reserve Tip-Off Tournament presented by Citi with a trip to UMass on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team dropped its opener in the Air Force Reserve Tip Off Tournament, falling at Arizona State, 90-49, on Thursday night in Tempe, AZ. The Sun Devils took control of the game late in the first half, pushing its lead to 20 points at halftime. Central continues play in the Air Force Reserve Tip-Off Tournament presented by Citi with a trip to UMass on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Freshman Greg Outlaw led CCSU in scoring with nine points. Junior Stephane Ayangma chipped in with eight points, while senior Jamir Coleman grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Rob Edwards led ASU in scoring with 23 points as he hit five three-pointers in the first half.
Central was limited to just 17-of-57 (.298) from the field and 4-of-17 (.235) from three-point range. CCSU was 11-of-21 at the foul line. ASU shot 29-of-65 (.446) from the field and was just 7-of-27 (.259) from three-point range, while going 25-of-33 (.758) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central led 2-0 after a dunk by freshman Greg Outlaw, but ASU would score 11 straight points and hold CCSU scoreless for nearly six minutes before freshman Jamir Reed hit a three-pointer to make it 11-5.
- The Blue Devils would use a 9-0 run to get within 23-16. Junior Stephane Ayangma scored five points and Reed had four points in the spurt.
- The Sun Devils would hold CCSU to one field goal over the final 5:00 of the opening half and outscored the Blue Devils, 14-4, to take a 43-23 lead into halftime.
- ASU limited the Blue Devils to just two field goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half and pushed the lead to 63-31 and the game would get no closer.

32 - The Blue Devils were forced into 23 turnovers, which ASU turned into 32 points. CCSU forced 12 turnovers, but were unable to convert those into any points.

- Arizona State leads the all-time series, 2-0, having won the only other meeting on Dec. 29, 2008.
