Football Back In Action Saturday To Host Duquesne
CCSU and Duquesne both had open weeks last Saturday
The Central Connecticut football team returns to the gridiron after a bye week to host Northeast Conference foe Duquesne. The game is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Arute Field and if you aren't able to make the game in person, you can catch it on NEC Front Row with Bruce Biel and Marc Robbins calling the action.

- The Blue Devils and Dukes are meeting for the 15th time, with each team having won seven times and having alternated wins in the past four meetings
- CCSU held Brown to 17-yards rushing, the lowest total of the season, and the best since holding LIU to 59 yards on the ground last fall
- Chizi Umunakwe leads the NEC in tackles per game, 10.5/game, fifth in the NCAA
- Aidan Clark is averaging a league-best 40 yards per punt, 52nd in the nation
- Jahlil Brown enters the week fifth in the nation, and tops in the NEC, with two fumble recoveries, while Jonathan Cabral-Martin is 14th nationally, also first in the NEC, with .33 forced fumbles a game
- Shon Mitchell is averaging 12.6 yard per completions, 24th in the FCS and 2nd in the NEC
- Nasir Smith jumped to second in the league, and 36th nationally, with 461 yards rushing
- Kyren Petteway has 15 catches, for 132 yards, in the last two games. The eight catches he made against Brown is a career-best, surpassing the seven he caught at Saint Francis
- CCSU is one of 27 teams in FCS to have scored a defensive touchdown, doing so on the Luquay Washington INT return at Saint Francis.
