Blue Devils Will Hit The Road to Face Albany in FCS Playoffs on Saturday
CCSU led the country with six road wins this season
Following their sixth Northeast Conference title, the #17 Central Connecticut football team will head to the University at Albany to face the Great Danes in the first round of the FCS Playoffs on Saturday, November 30. Central, one of only three teams in the country still undefeated vs. FCS competition this season, is 11-1 overall and won the NEC title with a perfect 7-0 record.
The Blue Devils lead the country with six road wins this season, and were 11-0 against FCS teams in 2019. The lone loss on their schedule came on the road at FBS member Eastern Michigan. Central has won eight straight games since that loss, including Saturday's 43-10 win at Duquesne to extend their school-record to 11 wins on the season. Central has won nine straight road games vs. FCS opponents dating back to last season.
The game will be played at 1 p.m. on ESPN3.
The teams will be meeting for the 20th overall time, with the Great Danes holding a 13-6 edge in the series. The last meeting came in 2014, a 19-0 Albany win in New Britain. The last meeting at Albany came in 2013, a 20-17 CCSU victory.
The Blue Devils are making their second trip to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. In 2017 the Blue Devils lost 14-0 on the road at New Hampshire.
