Baseball Shutout by Bryant on Friday
The Central Connecticut baseball team was shutout by Bryant in a winner's bracket matchup, falling 6-0 on Friday at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT. The Blue Devils were held to four hits and will now play Sacred Heart in an elimination game scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- Bryant pushed across two runs in the first inning. A single up the middle by Derek Smith brought the first run and a sac fly by James Ciliento pushed the lead to 2-0.
- After surrendering two runs in the first inning, senior Brandon Fox settled in and retired 12 straight Bryant batters before a two-out single in the fifth inning.
- Bryant added a run in the sixth when Liam McGill led off with a single and would score on a double by Smith to make it 3-0. After the Bulldogs put runners on second and third with one out in the seventh, CCSU would go the bullpen. Jake Gustin would promptly single and drive in two runs to make it 5-0. The Bulldogs would tack on a run in the eighth to close the scoring.

- Fox would go 6.1 innings for CCSU. He scattered eight hits and strike out three, while be charged with five runs.
- Junior Matt Shane allowed one run in 1.2 innings of relief.
- Tyler Schoff scrattered three hits and two walks over 8.0 shutout innings. He recorded 10 strikeouts.
- Senior Buddy Dewaine had a pair of singles, while junior Sam Loda and freshman Elliot Good each added a single.
- The Blue Devils are 32-24 all-time with six titles at the Northeast Conference championship.
- Central had its four-game win streak in the NEC Championship snapped. CCSU has gone 8-2 in its last 10 NEC postseason games dating back to 2017.
