Baseball Sweeps Mount St. Mary's With Saturday Win
Central Connecticut baseball closed out a weekend sweep with an 8-7 win on Saturday at Mount St. Mary's in Northeast Conference action at Straw Family Stadium. The Blue Devils took advantage of a six-run fourth inning and held off the Mountaineers to sweep the three-game series.

KEY MOMENTS
- Mount took an early 2-1 lead following three innings before CCSU broke the game open in the fourth. Central had runners on first and third with one out when senior Dave Matthews singled to centerfield to tie the game 2-2. Freshman Elliot Good followed with an RBI single to drive in a run and give the Blue Devils the lead. Junior Matt Bertochi followed with a two-run double and junior Sam LOda had an RBI-single to make it 6-2. CCSU had seven consecutive batters reach safely before Mount got the second out in the inning. With two outs, senior Buddy Dewaine drew a bases loaded walk to make it 7-2.
- Mount got a run back in the fourth and then got a three-run homerun in the sixth to make it a 7-6 game.
- In the eighth, Bertochi and Loda both reached with one out to put runners on first and second. Devito singled up the middle to bring in a run to make it 8-6.
- Ryan Fisher hit a solo homer in the ninth for Mount to make it 8-7, but CCSU would get a game-ending double-play to seal the win..
