Fox Named NEC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Fox and the Blue Devils pitching staff rank second in the league in ERA.
Senior Brandon Fox was named the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week it was announced on Wednesday by the conference office. Fox picked up his first win of the season in his last outing, at Stony Brook on March 7.
Fox tossed a gem at Stony Brook, throwing 8.0 innings and allowing just one unearned run. He scattered six hits and struck out six batters in a 5-3 CCSU win. Fox did not allow a runner to reach third base until the fourth inning, when the Seawolves took advantage of an error to scratch out their only run against the right-hander.
Fox has made three starts this season. In 21.0 innings, he has allowed just one earned run and sports a 0.43 earned run average. He has posted a 14-2 strikeout-walk ratio, and has allowed just 16 hits.
