Northeast Conference Announces Winter Academic Honorees
The Northeast Conference announced its Winter Scholar-Athletes and Academic Honor Roll honorees, including 42 Central Connecticut student-athletes it was announced Wednesday by the league office. The league also named members of the Winter Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's Honor Roll.

CCSU had eight student athletes earn Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition: Ashley Forker (Jr., Women's Basketball), Emma McCamus (So., Women's Basketball), Tiffany Slicklein (Jr., Women's Basketball), Bruna Vila Artigues (Jr., Women's Basketball), Allison Brown (So., Women's Indoor Track & Field), McKenna Kilian (Sr., Women's Indoor Track & Field), Angelia Rafter (So., Women's Indoor Track & Field), Morgan Ricci (Sr., Women's Indoor Track & Field).
All scholar-athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours at their institution, maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.
Along with the scholar-athletes, the NEC announced its Winter Academic Honor Roll, consisting of 609 student-athletes with a 3.20 or better grade point average, a 1.5 percent increase from 2017-18. There were also 202 student-athletes named to the Winter Commissioner's Honor Roll, recognizing those superior student-athletes with a 3.75 or better grade point average. The Commissioner's Honor Roll figure represents a 8.6 percent increase from a year ago.
