Bio

Michael Ansarra enters his 26th year working at Central and his 18th in the Athletics Department. He was appointed Senior Associate Athletics Director in 2004 and is responsible for assisting with internal operations and program administration, athletics event management, facility rentals and scheduling and budgeting.

Ansarra earned his Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies from Cornell University in 1983, where he was also a member of the varsity basketball team. He earned a Master of Science degree in urban studies/planning and development from Southern Connecticut State University in 1996.

Prior to his appointment as the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Ansarra served as the Associate Director of Athletics from 2000-2004 as well as the Assistant Director of Athletics/Compliance Coordinator from 1995-1999 where his responsibilities included enforcing NCAA, institutional and conference mandates including eligibility, scholarships, rules and regulations.

From 1998-2001, Ansarra served as Special Council to the President for African American Affairs where he served as a liaison to faculty, staff, students and community constituents on issues of diversity and equity, provided conflict mediation and referral. He also served as the Assistant Director of Admissions from 1988-1995 where he was responsible for recruiting and marketing strategies and outreach, budget management and grant administration.
