Jane Henry | Senior | Women’s Lacrosse | Management
Henry capped her career by earning All-Northeast Conference Second Team honors following the season. She collected a season-high four ground balls at Robert Morris on April 28, had a season-high nine draw controls in CCSU’s final home game on April 20 against Wagner and had a season-high three caused turnovers against LIU Brooklyn on April 5. As a senior she led the Blue Devils with 42 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers and tied for third with 28 ground balls. In 64 career starts, she collected 100 ground balls, 52 draw controls and 60 caused turnovers. Henry has a 3.23 GPA as a Management major.

Sierra Nesmith | Senior | Track & Field | Exercise Science
Nesmith opened the outdoor track & field season in the final weekend of March by winning gold in the 200 and 400 meter dash events at the 24th Annual Season-Opener at Monmouth University. She won the 200-meter event with a time of 25.69 and turned in a time of 56.79 in the 400-meter event. Nesmith closed out the indoor season by setting multiple records at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. Her leap of 11.86 meters in the triple jump was good enough to place 12th in the event and bested her own previous school-record (11.81). At the same meet, in the 400-meter dash Nesmith turned in a time of 55.30 in her heat to best the school-record set in 2004 (55.70). Nesmith is majoring in Exercise Science.

Marquis Ward | Junior | Track & Field | Sociology
Ward capped a strong indoor season by earning the 2019 Northeast Conference Most Outstanding Performer – Jumps at the conference championships. Ward earned three medals, including a gold in the high jump with a leap of 2.01 meters. He also earned two bronze medals, one in the long jump with a leap of 6.91 meters and the other in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 14.72 meters. Ward ended the indoor season by qualifying to compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. A Dean’s List student as well, Ward is a Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree and holds a 3.44 GPA as a sociology major.

Valentina Gomez | Junior | Swimming & Diving | Marketing
Gomez led Central in a dual with Northeastern winning the 1000 yard freestyle (10:41.27) and placing second in the 100 yard butterfly (58.27). The junior began the month when she won the 500 yard freestyle (5:15.23), placed second in the 200 yard butterfly (2:08.37), and helped the 200 yard medley relay place third at Florida International. Gomez will look to defend her NEC title in the 200 yard butterfly when she and the Blue Devils swim at the NEC Championships on Feb. 13-16. A marketing major, she has been a member of the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Kiana Patterson | Senior | Women's Basketball | Management
Patterson was named a Preseason All-Northeast Conference selection at the league's Social Media Day and has been among the league leaders in the start of the year, averaging 17.3 points per game, 3.0 assists, 2.3 three-pointers and playing 33.2 minutes. She became the 16th player in program history to score 1,000 career points earlier this season when scoring 25 points at Rutgers on Nov. 13. Patterson is the team captain and has been named to the NEC Prime Performers list twice this season. A management major, she has also served as a tour guide at CCSU Open House events.

Angie Rafter | Sophomore | Women's Cross Country | English
Rafter was named the women’s Most Outstanding Performer at the Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships after capturing the individual crown and helping lead the Blue Devils to their first women’s cross country title since 1999. The Danielson, CT, native paced the field of 80 runners to earn all-conference honors with a time of 18:03.6. The two-time NEC Athlete of the Week (Oct. 10, Oct. 25) earned a top-10 finish at the New England Championships and a top-5 place at the CCSU Mini Meet. An English major with a 3.88 GPA, Rafter has earned Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll and Northeast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition.

Charlotte Maurer | Senior | Women's Soccer | Pre-Marketing
Maurer, a team captain, has helped the Blue Devils begin the season with a 10-1-2 mark overall and 4-0 in Northeast Conference play (as of Oct. 11). She has started all 13 games and has a team-leading seven goals, including three game-winners. The midfielder from Northampton, MA, also has an assist to give her 15 points on the year. She was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Oct. 2 after scoring two goals and an assist in a pair of CCSU wins. The Pre-Marketing major is also a member of the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll. Maurer had a 4.0 GPA in the Spring 2018 semester and has a 3.65 GPA overall.
