Rafter Wins Athlete of the Week
After a dominating performance at the Ted Owen Invitational last week, senior Angie Rafter was nominated Athlete of the Week by the Northeast Conference.
The senior crossed the finish line on Saturday lengths ahead of the competition, finishing the women's 5K at 17:35.5. The next closest finisher took 15 seconds longer to cross. This 5K time was actually a tenth of a second better than her time at last year's NEC Championship, but who's counting?
This is Rafter's second time earning Athlete of the Week this year. Rafter also recieved this award twice during the 2019-2020 season.
Apart from Rafter's award, Ashley Dana and Brooke Morabito were also named Prime Performers for their runs last weekend.
Women's cross country will be back in action this Saturday, taking part in the New England Championships.
