Cross Country Continues Season at NCAA Regional Championships
The Regional Championships will be hosted by the University of Buffalo.
On Friday, Nov. 9 the Central Connecticut men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the 2018 NCAA D1 Cross Country Regional Championships at Audobon Gold Course in Buffalo, NY. The women's 6K race will kick off the championship meet at 11:00 a.m. followed by the men's 10K run at noon.

The women's cross country team is coming off a solid conference performance. CCSU won the 2018 Northeast Conference Championship finishing with 46 points bringing home the gold for the first time since 1999 at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI on Oct. 27. Sophomore Angie Rafter finished first overall out of 80 runners with a time of 18:03.6. Rafter was named to the NEC All-Conference Team and named the 2018 NEC Most Outstanding Performer. Rookie standout Ashley Dana was named the 2018 Northeast Conference Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Year as the first freshman finisher in 15th place with a time of 19:07.7.
The Central men are coming off a notable team effort at the NEC Championships, finishing fourth with 72 points and a team average time of 26:44. Alex Norstrom finished fourth overall with a time of 25:57.5. CCSU had three runners, juniors Roberto Piotto and Richard Grudzwick along with Norstrom, were named to the 2018 Men's Cross Country All-Conference Team.
