Women's Cross Country Seeks Northeast Conference Championship Saturday
The Blue Devils are seeking their third championship in program history.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country squad will look for its first conference title since 1999 at the 2018 Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27, in Smithfield, RI. Joining the Blue Devils in the quest for this year's NEC championship will be Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson, LIU Brooklyn, Mount St. Mary's, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, St. Francis Brooklyn, Saint Francis U, Wagner. CCSU finished second in last season's championship and will get the day started with the women's race at 11:00 a.m. Highlights and interviews from the cross country championships will be posted after the races on NEC Front Row.
NEC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS | COURSE MAP
Seniors Dawn Hubbell and Madeline Mondo both earned top-10 finishes and All-NEC honors, placing third and ninth, respectively, at last season's meet. Sophomore Megan Brawner placed 11th and earned NEC Freshman of the Year honors. Head coach Eric Blake will look to direct the Blue Devils to their first championship since winning back-to-back titles in 1998-99.
The championship will take place on the Bryant University Cross Country Course. The men's race will follow the women and take place at 12:00 p.m. with an awards ceremony following at approximately 1:00 p.m.
