Rafter Paces Women’s Cross Country at New England Championships Saturday
Women's Cross Country finished 10th out of 24 teams at the New England Championships
Central Connecticut women's cross country team placed 10th out of 24 teams, including 168 runners, at the 106th Annual New England Cross Country Championships and the 15th men's and women's combined New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEIAAA) Championship held at Franklin Park in Boston, MA on Saturday Oct. 6.
Central Connecticut sophomore Angie Rafter raced in first for the Blue Devils in 10th place turning the 5K course time of 18:17.8. Sophomore Megan Brawner was next in for CCSU at the 18:56.0 mark at 27th place.
Senior Dawn Hubbell came in 51th place with a time of 19:18.0. Sophomore Sabrina Chesters and freshman Ashley Dana would finish within less than a minute from each other. Chesters came in 92nd place at the 19:47.5 mark and Dana 111th place at 20:01.1.
Rounding out the Blue Devils runners was sophomore Kailyn Accetura with a time of 21:33.3.
The women's cross country team will next host the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 19 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
